Project funding for Higher education

The autum application round is now open. Deadline is 24 September 2018 (at 23:59).

The Danish Foundation for Entrepreneurship has since its establishment distributed funds to support the development of:

  • new educations, courses and programmes
  • new feedback and evaluation methods
  • continuing education of teachers
  • study trips for teachers

In 2016, the Danish Foundation for Entrepreneurship elaborated together with DEA a mapping of extracurricular entrepreneurship activities for students at the Danish universities.

Since 2017, this mapping includes also business academies, university colleges as well as some schools of marine engineering. Through this mapping, we also identified several institutions that made it possible for their students to include their extra-curricular activities (activities not receiving ECTS credits) in their curricular activities (activities receiving ECTS credits).

The coupling of curricular and extra-curricular activities is also becoming more and more common in other countries, and the Foundation has a great interest in and wants to support this development.

Moreover, the Danish Foundation for Entrepreneurship has identified two things that need to be developed in order to strengthen the entrepreneurial competences of students:

  1. Educational programmes that focus on the establishment of student startups
  2. Development and establishment of student startups that create new digital solutions.

In this application round, we therefore open up the possibility to apply for funds for development projects within the above categories that aim at developing:

  • new co-curricular programmes, with a focus on the two abovementioned development needs
  • new feedback and evaluation methods for the co-curricular programmes, with a focus on the two abovementioned development needs
  • continuing teacher education that strengthens the knowledge about co-curricular activities and the evaluation of these, with a focus on the two abovementioned development needs
  • teacher study trips that focus on co-curricular programmes, with a focus on the two abovementioned development needs
  • development of new or existing programmes that strengthen the entrepreneurial competences of students, with a focus on the two abovementioned development needs.

It is still possible to apply for funds for the development of:

  • new educations, courses and programmes
  • new feedback and evaluation methods
  • continuing education for teachers
  • study trip for teachers
